DISCERNMENT - the tool for 2026 and Beyond!

Something I have felt the Father restore to me this past year, in preparation for 2026 and beyond is discernment. Discernment is a gift of the Spirit of God. We are all called to walk with discernment. We need it to discern between our souls/self, the enemy's camp and God's Kingdom. Without discernment, we can fall prey to the traps of man and the enemy.

Discernment can be tainted by offence, pride and also self. We will look through filters, and discern through them. This can cause a dangerous situation to occur. For when we discern through those things we can discern wrongly.

The times we are in and are walking in to as a Body of people, will need us to walk in great discernment. With the rise of AI, the demonic agenda, and man's idolisation of self, we will need to be able to discern rightly what is true and what is false. We will fall into a trap if we cannot discern healthily.

As Prophet's we especially have to have good discernment and have clean eyes to see with. Discernment is used by prophets to see rightly and discern intelligence to intercede and deal with things in the spirit realm. We also need to trust the Holy Spirit's voice and that also comes with discernment.

When Prophet's have been hurt in the past, it can affect their discernment. We can also shut our discernment down to appease those around us and we can also defer to those around us, whom we think are more mature.

If we have filters we can discern wrongly and damage lives around us. We hear His voice for others and with a tainted discernment we could see something that is not there, or miss something God is highlighting. we have to be able to discern rightly and not judge those we are near. We do not want to see dimly.

I have also found that we can defer to those who are discipling us, to know if our discernment is right or wrong. If they don't discern the same as us, we can tend to shut it down. This can cause hurts and offence in the long run also.

As a Prophet or a Seer you can tend to shut down your discernment when others do not see or feel the same as you. It is one of the reasons a Prophetic Community is important to be connected to and grow in. They will sharpen your discernment in a safe way and help you grow.

There was a season i walked through where i felt that there was the false prophetic at work in a situation and the Prophetic leader who was over me, did not see it. God kept highlighting it to me over and over and in the end i shut my discernment down because I thought i was seeing and hearing wrong. Do you know how hard it is to walk in the Prophetic without discernment? VERY HARD! The Holy Spirit is supposed to be our teacher and guide. If we do not trust His voice, then we grieve Him and He does not share things with us. In my immaturity, i trusted the prophetic leader over me, instead of the Holy Spirit and I ignored it. In the end chaos ensued in the situation and many were hurt, and yes the false prophetic was to blame!

This is not about dishonouring those over us, but it is a place where we must all learn to trust the Holy Spirits voice and be obedient to Him. We will need this so much as we move into the next few years. There is a place to honour those over you, but also trust what the Spirit is saying to you and doing through you. Prophet's must learn that from the Holy Spirit.

Our relationship with the Lord is imperative in these times for us all. As we return to trusting the Holy Spirit as our teacher again in these days, trust that He is training your discernment. We have spent far too long leaning on our own understanding and not trusting Him.

I had to repent for shutting down discernment and minimising it, to fit in with others. As I have healed and dealt with identity issues these past few years my discernment has returned and I have learnt to trust it again. This is beneficial, because we are ministering to the Body to help them BECOME!

If you have not felt as discerning in these days, ask the Lord to forgive you for shutting down discernment and the Holy Spirit's voice. Repent for trusting man's voice first. Forgive those who didn't hear your discernment or trust it. Repent for shutting it down. Ask Holy Spirit to give you the gift of discernment again. God would you restore it to me.

Discernment is a gift from the Holy Spirit. Take the gift and use it! We need it moving forward into uncertain times in 2026 and beyond.
